
Desert Surgery & Vein Care is a long-standing general surgery practice. Dr. Thomas Trotta has been practicing in the Tri-Cities since 1985 and has a reputation of providing excellent personal care to his patients. He performs all types of general surgeries (see Our Services for a full procedure list) and specializes in both breast care and the treatment of varicose veins.
Our most common varicose vein procedure is the VNUS® Closure® procedure. Dr. Trotta is board certified in phlebology (the study of venous disease) and has been performing the Closure procedure since 2002, making him the most qualified and experienced surgeon in the area for this procedure. Dr. Trotta was born in Portland, Oregon on May 14, 1954. He is married and has two children. He completed his undergraduate degree at Portland State University, earning a BS in Biology.
He received his Medical Degree at the Oregon Health & Sciences University and was a surgical resident at the University of Chicago for 2 years and at the University of Illinois St. Francis Medical Center for 3 years. Dr. Trotta is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a board-certified general surgeon.
He is a member of the American College of Phlebology as well as the local Benton-Franklin Medical Society. He is on the foundation board of the Tri-Cities Cancer Center and he serves at Kadlec Medical Center as the chairman of the Department of Surgery and as a member of the Medical Staff Quality Committee, the OR Committee, the Medical Executives Committee, and the Trauma Committee. His special interests include diseases of the breast, non-cardiac thoracic surgery, and venous diseases
